We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a vital member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hospitality. Duties
Assist in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation teams, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to recipes and standards
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality and consistency across all dishes
Support the implementation of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Train new team members on kitchen procedures, safety standards, and service expectations
Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus and special offerings that align with brand standards
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health regulations
Serve as a leader during service hours, stepping in to assist with cooking or service as needed
Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, hospitality, and high performance
Qualifications
Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or food service environment
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
Extensive restaurant management experience preferred
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
Excellent communication skills and ability to serve guests professionally
Previous experience working in hospitality or similar settings is highly desirable
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
