Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong background in kitchen operations. As the Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Position receives portion of tips on top of payroll.

Duties



Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure efficient workflow. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that all dishes meet quality standards. Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper handling techniques. Collaborate with team members to create new menu items and improve existing recipes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times. Handle any customer inquiries or complaints regarding food service.

Qualifications



Proven experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment, with supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food service operations and restaurant management principles. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff and customers. A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
