We're looking for an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef at Flame & Barrel, you'll play a key role in supporting the Executive Chef or Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, food preparation, and presentation. Your creativity, attention to detail, and leadership skills will help us deliver exceptional dining experiences to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Executive Chef or Head Chef in managing kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
2. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet our standards.
3. Develop and implement new recipes, menus, and cooking techniques to enhance our culinary offerings.
4. Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food and kitchen supplies.
5. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
6. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
7. Participate in menu planning, food costing, and budget management.
8. Ensure compliance with food safety and quality control procedures.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a commercial kitchen.
2. Strong culinary skills, with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
3. Leadership and team management experience.
4. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm behaviour in a fast-paced environment.
6. Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality control procedures.
7. Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
