Wage: $24.00/hr

Start Date: ASAP

Status: Part Time

Location: 565 Richmond Street, Chatham-Kent, ON (Chatham-Kent John D Bradley Convention Centre)

Schedule: 7:00 am-2:00 am 7 days a week

Job Summary

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Jr. Sous Chefs, we\'d ask you to do the following for us:

• Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards. Ensure all deadlines are met based on production.
• Supervise hourly food service associates. This includes training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate.
• Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils. Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area.
• Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Relay relevant information directly to the Executive Chef.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of catering and special menu items and accurately explain to associates and customers.
• Keep up with peak production and service times.
• Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies. Track product production, consumption and waste. Inform Executive Chef when supplies or products are low.

• One or more years of related culinary supervisory experience in a fast-paced production-oriented environment.
• Food Handlers Certificate
• Post-secondary education in culinary or related studies is considered an asset.
• Basic supervisory skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates.
• Hard-working team player with ability to prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Able to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs, may require evening and weekend availability.
