As the Sous Chef, you will be instrumental in overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will utilize your core skills in cooking, team management, and food safety to lead a talented culinary team. Your supervisory experience will be essential in training staff and maintaining a productive kitchen environment. Additionally, your knowledge of the food industry and hospitality will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Base salary plus weekly tip out and benefits.

Duties

- Develop and create innovative menus in line with culinary trends and customer preferences

- Supervise all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency and quality

- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling

- Maintain inventory levels and control food costs

-Inventory counts

- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan and execute special events or promotions

Skills

- Extensive experience in the food industry with a strong background in cooking, food service, and restaurant operations

- Proficient in all aspects of kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management

- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of culinary professionals

- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures

- A strong knowledge of seafood preferred but not required

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality

- Strong computer skills

Qualities Required

- Great personal presentation and hygiene

- Passionate about the industry

- AHS Food Safety Certificate

- Experience and full understanding of food costing

- Takes pride in their work with attention to detail

- Leads by example

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
