POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, as Sourcing & Contracts Analyst, you will be part of a small team that works hands-on with The Globe and Mail's business departments, helping them source services and products. You will support on supplier selection including identifying requirements, writing specifications, conducting market research, helping teams navigate internal processes, preparing SOWs, RFPs, RFQs and managing the selection process (e.g., coordinating with suppliers) and negotiating the contract. General contract administration will also be part of your role including preparing, negotiating and reviewing various company contracts, including supplier, customer and business partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide sourcing support and guidance to all departments within the organization
  • Guide on sourcing process to follow (bidding, extension, termination, approvals, etc.)
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers
  • Coordinate supplier selection process, prepare documentation for release to market (e.g., RFQ, RFP, RFI, etc.), analyze submissions, and provide advice on supplier selection
  • Provide subject matter expertise in preparing, reviewing, negotiating, implementing and executing contracts between customers, suppliers and business partners
  • Ongoing vendor management (e.g., vendor performance, renewal negotiations, issues, disputes, cancellations)
  • Maintain contract management system, contract templates and contract status reports
  • Ensure timely execution and renewal of all contracts
  • Work closely with legal team to develop/improve playbooks and processes for contracts
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 to 7 years' experience in a sourcing role
  • Knowledge of sourcing process, including negotiating contracts and SOWs
  • Related education from a recognized post-secondary program
  • Self-starter and strong business acumen
  • Experience sourcing technology vendors
  • Excellent contract, RFP, SOW writing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, time management and customer service skills
  • Ability to work productively independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to creatively think and problem solve
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel, and general comfort with technology
  • Assets but not required: supply management training or designation
