Job Description


JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Optimization Manager, the Solutions Engineering Analyst will support Mevotech with meaningful analytics to help drive accurate decision making and planning while taking into consideration current and future business growth. The successful candidate will help standardize the team approach, build out required business cases, as well as supporting the team on operational topics.

The Solutions Engineering Analyst will collaborate internally within the Product Management team, S&OP Team and with other departments including Operations, IT, HR, Finance, Sales and Marketing (and other teams as required).

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to execute on business/customer strategy goals.
  • Analyze \xe2\x80\x98big data\xe2\x80\x99 to summarize and report findings and provide support to our internal team on true needs of the business.
  • Perform detailed supply chain network and center of gravity analysis to develop cost effective solutions that take into consideration customer service levels, supply chain lead times and business requirements.
  • Develop detailed Concept of Operation for Distribution Centers that include cost to serve, operating budget, KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, Productivity Targets, Facility Location, facility size, headcount requirements MHE, racking to be procured, bin sizes, rack elevations, automation, facility set up timelines, facility lifecycle and future growth plans.
  • Responsible for analysis and execution plan for inventory flow of new items and slow/ desolate at distribution centers including layout, location, nomenclature, home bin etc.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement that improve order execution, quality, service, efficiency, or cost, through analysis of supply chain information and metrics.
  • Define and improve network analysis methodology, cadence, by collaborating with transportation and operations teams at regular intervals.
  • Build out executable action plans that meet approved outcomes from internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain capacity planning tracker with a view to future trigger points and timing to when milestones need to be actioned to support business.
  • Regularly track and review information from various data sources to effectively plan and direct the workflow of the inventory at assigned facility
  • Monitor and action outstanding work on a daily, weekly and monthly basis including reviewing and reporting on inventory min/max levels and warehouse discrepancies
  • Optimize storage of finished goods to maximize efficiency of warehouse operations
  • Identify and investigate exceptions within the data to optimize spatial utilization of finished goods and identify/action trends in the data
  • Use established tools and activities to identify slow or non-moving inventory to identify cost savings and production improvements
  • Document business process flows as required.
  • Create and maintain engineering governance calendar milestones that ensures business deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Support day-to-day operations as required (inventory optimization and analysis, activity tracking, capacity planning etc.)
  • Other ad-hoc analysis and execution plans as required to support business.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • University Degree or College diploma
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in the automotive industry and/or aftermarket parts is an asset, but relevant analytical experience in any industry is paramount.
  • Experience as a Solution Engineer within 3PL industry is an asset,
  • Comfortable managing \xe2\x80\x9cbig data\xe2\x80\x9d with an aptitude for summarizing large data sets to distill actionable key elements for management and/or field staff.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools used to analyze data and build reporting such as MS Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint, and Tableau/Power BI (KNIME experience is considered an asset)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Problem solver with the ability to assess a situation and provide a data-centric solution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Result oriented, ability to work at a fast pace with demonstrated initiative.
  • Comfortable presenting analyses within the team and with management
  • Exceptional spreadsheet (Excel) and data analysis capabilities required.
  • Able to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables.
