The Solution Architect is a key member of the HSSBC architecture team whom is responsible for the development of the overall vision and execution of system solutions. This includes coordinating the development and implementation of the service architecture, formulating policies and standards related to that architecture and communicating service design to staff as required. A Solution Architect provides expert consultation, vision and leadership in the analysis, feasibility, design, planning, implementation, and use of the HSSBC service offerings. Coordinates the infrastructure planning for corporate large-scale system initiatives and coordinates the procurement of external services. Provides input into the development of policies, annual goals and objectives for the area of responsibility.
The Interface Solution Architect is a pivotal role in healthcare IT, focusing on the design and implementation of interfaces for inbound and outbound messages within Cerner systems and utilizing BizTalk to broker exchange with all downstream systems. This professional is responsible for the seamless integration of HL7v2 interfaces with Cerner and ensuring robust and secure data exchange. Key responsibilities include understanding and analyzing clinical workflows and the data triggered in outbound transactions, specifying mapping and transformations to ensure compatibility between Cerner and integrated systems, meeting organizational goals through integration, and overseeing the ongoing improvement and maintenance of interface architecture. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the integrity and reliability of message flows. Experience with middleware, interface engines or ESB\xe2\x80\x99s, like BizTalk, is required as well as a deep understanding of HL7v2, and familiarity with the Cerner FSI architecture and tools and the Cerner data model. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare informatics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to navigate the evolving landscape of healthcare data standards.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do
Coordinates service planning for corporate large-scale systems initiatives, working closely with business units, functional area managers, senior IT team and architecture team members to define the goals, objectives and plans that direct systems design and implementation activities. Resolves problems and scheduling conflicts and provides status updates and reports.
Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts
Lead development of formalized solution methodologies, including building and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents. Write, or direct the writing of white papers that add further insight and thought in the solution area.
Defines the principles that guide technology decisions for the enterprise and develops and implements policies and standards related to technology architecture. Formulates strategies and plans for short-term and long-term services that support both HSSBC and our client\xe2\x80\x99s business needs. Oversees the evaluation and selection of hardware and software product standards and the design of standard configurations.
Designs and coordinates the implementation of an enterprise-wide service architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies and then directs the activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture. Communicates the technology infrastructure to IT staff, management, community sites, and project teams.
Researches and analyzes market, technology, and industry trends and standards related to technologies that affect network, security, server infrastructure, and other platforms for the purposes of determining potential impact on the enterprise and the suitability of different approaches in solving emerging business needs. Provides recommendations on the use and evolution of IT architecture.
Prepares, manages and evaluates the procurement of external services by managing the RFI, RFQ, and/or RFP process including creating and evaluating the RFP and committing funds for large enterprise-wide systems initiatives estimated at one million dollars or greater. Liaises with outside vendors, reviews bids and/or negotiates equipment and/or service contracts, and makes recommendations where necessary to the Manager. Monitors the level of support to ensure requirements and expectations of the contract(s) are met.
Designs, implements and supports enterprise wide security solutions and access controls in a way that provides appropriate, demonstrable and coordinated security procedures and practices that are compliant with related law, regulation, policy and professional standards. Provides monitoring, auditing and investigation expertise into security, policy and appropriate use violations.
Provides expert technical advice and consultation by performing analysis, formulating recommendations for proposed technology changes, and by providing input into application development and into the use of new technology for inclusion in the technology architecture. Provides consultation and advice to senior management on technology alternatives and solutions.
Develops annual goals and objectives for the area of responsibility, in collaboration with the Manager, Architecture & Security, ensuring consistency with department plans and authority objectives and strategies.
Participates in assigned Provincial, and Federal committees; chairs and/or leads discussion as required.

What you bring Qualifications
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science, engineering or a related study or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Seven (7) years of recent related experience in a large, complex organization including experience with at least two IT disciplines from a client/server environment, including but not limited to, project management, technical architecture, systems analysis, network management, application development, middleware, database management, and operations. Strong understanding of network architecture. Understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate the politics. Ability to understand the long-term (big-picture) and short-term perspectives of situations. Ability to translate business needs into technical architecture requirements. Ability to estimate financial impact of technical architecture alternatives. Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. Knowledge of emerging and transformational technologies (cloud, managed services). Knowledge with IT service Management (ITIL). Knowledge of Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF). One or more certifications in a solution product area

Job Type: Regular, Full-Time Salary Range: $88,990 - $127,923 /year.
