This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, supporting both internal stakeholders and clients. Youxe2x80x99ll focus on designing efficient solutions that include ocean freight, airfreight, barge, truck, rail, and other transport modes, as well as managing warehouses, export packers, terminals, and cargo handling companies.Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Transport Solutions: Work with approved Maersk subcontractors and service providers to create and manage pricing and logistics for cargo transported both within North America and internationally.
  • Support Major Bids: Assist the MPL Growth team with major bid proposals, ensuring all modes of transport are considered (ocean, air, truck, barge, rail) and that accurate pricing is provided.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on project logistics and transportation infrastructure in North America, including specialized heavy and oversized cargo handling.
  • Provider Recommendations: Evaluate and recommend the best service providers based on cost, reliability, and service requirements.
  • Work with Cargowise and Excel: Prepare pricing proposals for oversized and heavy cargo transport using Cargowise and other software, including creating larger project logistics bid packages when necessary.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships with service providers and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Travel: Occasionally travel for meetings, conferences, or site visits.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Project Logistics Expertise: Strong knowledge of the project logistics market in North America, including experience with subcontractors and all transport modes (ocean, air, truck, barge, rail).
  • Network Knowledge: Familiarity with Maerskxe2x80x99s container network and trade lanes, and awareness of external ocean freight options (including other container carriers and breakbulk operators).
  • Regulatory Understanding: Knowledge of the regulatory framework and commitment to operating within Maerskxe2x80x99s QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
  • Evaluation Skills: Ability to evaluate and recommend the most effective and cost-efficient solutions for clients.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and concise interactions with internal teams and external clients.
