We're partnering with a

major public-sector organization

on a large-scale modernization of its enterprise reporting landscape--migrating to a

Microsoft Fabric-based Lakehouse & Warehouse

to accelerate timeliness, strengthen governance, and enable trusted, data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Define the target architecture

for a Microsoft Fabric

Data Lakehouse & Warehouse

(One Lake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Delta, Semantic Models).

Design & implement ETL/ELT

with

Apache Spark

and

Fabric/Data Factory pipelines

for batch and near-real-time ingestion. Establish

data modeling

(medallion/layered patterns),

governance & privacy controls

,

metadata/lineage

, and

data quality

(validation, monitoring, remediation).

Integrate with Power BI

for governed self-serve analytics (semantic models, RLS/OLS, deployment pipelines, usage & cost optimization).

Plan & execute migrations

from legacy platforms; drive environment hardening, performance/cost tuning, and operational readiness (

SLIs/SLOs

, alerting, runbooks). Produce

architecture diagrams

, reference implementations, and

knowledge-transfer

materials;

mentor engineers

and engage business stakeholders.

Requirements

12+ years

of hands-on experience in

cloud data engineering/warehousing

and analytical/operational data pipelines. Proven

Senior Data/Solution Architect

with

Data Lakehouse

patterns and enterprise-scale design. Deep expertise in

Microsoft Azure

and

Microsoft Fabric

(One Lake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Pipelines/Spark/Notebooks, Semantic Models) plus.

NET

in the Microsoft ecosystem and

Power BI

. Strong command of

data governance

(security, privacy, catalog/lineage, MDM) and

dimensional/semantic modeling

. Excellent

stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership

across business and technical teams.

DP-203

(or equivalent) and relevant Microsoft certifications. (preferred) Bachelor's in CS/IT or related field. You must be

legally entitled to work in Canada

for the duration of this contract.
