Are you an experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in enterprise application design, modern architecture patterns, and large-scale banking or financial systems? This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead end-to-end solution architecture for high-visibility programs while shaping technology strategy, guiding business partners, and influencing decision-makers across the organization.
Working with one of our top financial clients, this position calls for a Solution Architect - Application/Banking who will design, document, and present application architectures, partner closely with Account Managers and Business Analysts, and drive alignment between business goals and technology capabilities. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a hands-on architect who can navigate complex requirements and advocate for robust, scalable, and compliant solutions.
Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage technical solution design for enterprise programs and portfolio projects.
• Translate business requirements into effective, scalable architectural solutions.
• Produce conceptual and logical architectures, including process flows, system diagrams, and value-chain models.
• Ensure all solution designs comply with internal standards, enterprise architecture guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage trade-offs between speed, quality, and cost while optimizing for long-term value.
• Collaborate closely with Account Managers and Business Analysts to clarify and consolidate application requirements.
• Participate in requirements and analysis meetings to ensure comprehensive understanding of system needs.
• Assess feasibility of application enhancements and new capabilities in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
• Evaluate alignment of proposed requirements with existing system capabilities and architectural constraints.
• Present, explain, and defend proposed solutions at governance forums and stakeholder sessions.

Desired Skill Set:

• 3+ years as a Solution Architect in a large enterprise environment.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise, application, or information architecture.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of service-oriented architecture, databases, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with real-time and batch interface design (including sequence diagrams).
• Strong understanding of TOGAF principles.
• Solid understanding of the BIAN financial services model.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• Strong expertise in RESTful APIs and JSON schema design.
• Advanced relational database and data structure design capabilities.
• Strong cloud architecture skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• TOGAF certification or equivalent (preferred).

Nice to Have:

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Prior experience in banking or financial domains.
• Experience with digital transformation, mobile banking, or online banking platforms.
• Exposure to banking channels such as mortgage, ATM, branch, or contact center systems.
