Solar Sales Representative

In this role, you will educate homeowners and businesses about the benefits of solar energy, assess their energy needs, and guide them through the process of adopting clean, cost-saving solar solutions. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about renewable energy, enjoys meeting new people, and thrives in a commission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and engage potential customers through door-to-door outreach, referrals, events, phone calls, and digital leads. Conduct onsite or virtual consultations to assess customer energy usage and present customized solar solutions. Clearly explain the financial, environmental, and long-term benefits of switching to solar. Prepare and deliver proposals, quotes, and contracts. Guide customers through the entire sales process, from first contact to installation approval. Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and financing partners to ensure smooth customer onboarding. Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets. Stay up to date on industry trends, incentives, financing options, and solar technologies.

Qualifications

Proven experience in sales, preferably in solar, home improvement, telecommunications, or related fields. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to simplify technical information into clear, customer-friendly explanations. Self-motivated with strong time-management skills. Comfortable working in a field-based, face-to-face environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills

Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). Bilingual abilities (a plus). Knowledge of utility billing and net-metering policies.
