Forward Insurance Managers Ltd. is hiring a full-time Software & Systems Developerto support project work focused on enhancing and expanding our digital platform.

This role reports to the Managing Director and is a full-time onsite position at our downtown Vancouver, BC location.

Program and implement new features to enhance our digital platform. Improve the backend system's data handling and overall platform speed /performance. Design and develop robust system integrations to improve efficiency and support scalability. Build and maintain secure and scalable solutions, leveraging programming expertise where required. Collaborate with various departments to design and implement back-end and front-end improvements. Support the ongoing modernization of the platform and help improve coding standards and best practices. Support team development by mentoring and providing technical leadership. Promote and model Forward culture, values, and brand promise. Continuously build professional and technical expertise. Achieve performance targets. Other duties as required.

Experience

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3-5 years of full-stack programming experience, including backend integration and application development. Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS. Experience with Node.js or similar backend technologies. Familiarity with API integration (RESTful APIs, JSON) using tools like Postman or Insomnia. Working knowledge of SQL or database queries for validation and backend support. Experience with Git and GitHub, and comfortable using VS Code or similar IDEs. Experience with Python or similar scripting languages is an asset. Strong documentation skills using Confluence, Jira, or equivalent tools.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
