/Requirements

The successful candidate will be involved in verification and validation of digital projection and audio products for the entertainment industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for developing a deep understanding of digital projection and audio systems, including the individual sub-components, in addition to the technologies used in the design, development and testing of these
  • Responsible for reviewing business, product and engineering requirements to develop test plans with a focus on optimizing test coverage
  • Work with the cross functional teams to enhance new and existing test plan strategies and test cases/scripts to meet and improve test coverage needs
  • Responsible for defining, refining and adhering to organizational standards and testing best practices when selecting processes and tools to be leveraged throughout the various test mandates and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
  • Responsible for following agreed upon processes for test case and defect management
  • Maintain the test system configurations to ensure accurate and complete test coverage and test results
  • Perform hardware and software integration and complete system testing
  • Accountable for creating and executing test cases and reporting the progress, coverage and target completion dates
  • Accountable for the selection of test cases to be leveraged in the maximizing of automation; in addition, when required developing and executing test scripts and reporting the progress, coverage and target completion dates
  • Responsible for raising well documented quality issues with preliminary root cause analysis and providing supporting engineering investigative logs to assist with the cross functional team resolution issue
  • Responsible for creating, updating, reviewing and releasing software upgrade instructions, test reports and other technical documentation
  • First point of contact for escalations requiring Engineering attention for root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Review and analyze system performance and diagnostic logs to identify areas of concerns, then liaise with Engineering to identify causes of failures and necessary corrective actions
  • Analyze products (system and subsystem) performance metrics for trend analysis and failure reporting
  • Be available to travel on very short notice
  • Travel occasionally on site for troubleshooting, diagnostics, field testing, install, retrofit or support implementation and rollout strategies
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a software engineering verification/validation and/or software/hardware engineering integration role
  • Experience in engineering test environment with a focus on technical manual and automated testing in a variety of embedded, server and Linux/Windows application based environments
  • The candidate must have experience with industrial instrumentation, embedded systems and digital software I/O control devices
  • The candidate must possess ability to work with a multi-disciplinary design team consisting of electronics, mechanical, optical and software personnel
  • Hands on experience in test case design at different levels (Component, Integration, End to End and User/Operational scenarios)
  • Hands on experience with test case and defect management tools (e.g. HP ALM, HPQC, Jira)
  • Hands on experience with a variety of test automation tools, frameworks and environments (e.g. Robot Framework, Test Complete, SOAPUI)
  • Hands on programming/developing experience using scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python, Java and C) and source configuration tools (Git)
  • Experience with test case and defect management tools (e.g. HP ALM, Jira)
  • Experience working with software project delivery methodologies, frameworks and best practices (Agile and Iterative Waterfall) and an understanding of development operations and integration in testing
  • You must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The incumbent must have a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and key deliverables
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills are mandatory
  • Bachelor's degree desired in Software Engineering or Computer Science or similar field
