Job Description


We are looking for a Software Quality Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Regina, Saskatchewan. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.Role Description
The Software Quality Analyst is responsible for test planning, test preparation, test execution and testing transition to operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that software applications meet quality, functionality and user experience and work closely with other developers.Responsibilities

  • Write and maintain test strategies and test plans (for functional, integration and user acceptance testing)
  • Provide testing task estimates.
  • Create complete set of test scenarios and prioritize test scenarios to ensure proper test coverage.
  • Create/identify/review and execute manual test scripts.
  • Lead test data requirements and test data creation.
  • Create test schedules.
  • Lead test team and defect meetings (confirm that problems are tracked and addressed)
  • Produce status reports and final test phase reports.
  • Monitor test progress and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Mentor and train test project resources as required
  • Identify regression test sets and provide knowledge transfer to operation support teams
  • Admin for test projects in HP ALM (HPQC)
Required Skills and Experience
  • A degree in computer science, software engineering or related discipline or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • 5 years experience in creating/identifying/reviewing and executing manual test scripts
  • 5 years experience in logging defects and enhancements
  • 5 years experience creating test data
  • 3 years experience work as a test lead, writing and maintaining test strategies and test plans
  • 3 years experience creating and prioritizing test scenarios to ensure proper test coverage and creating status reports and final test phase reports
  • 3 years experience leading test team and defect meetings
  • 3 years experience leading, mentoring, and training test project resources
