Software Project Manager for High Growth Haptics Tech Startup

We are seeking a Software Project Manager to oversee the design, development, and implementation of software interfaces for haptics across a range of hardware. This role involves interaction across various levels such as embedded systems, operating systems, drivers, platforms (console, AR/VR, etc.), and high-level APIs.

Your role will be pivotal in the implementation of cutting-edge touch technologies in gaming, AR/VR, smartphones, touchscreens, and automobiles. You will be working hand-in-hand with our engineering teams and clients to bring novel product experiences to reality.

Responsibilities

Project scoping and software architecture definition Management of external software engineering teams and resources Communication with internal and external developers regarding software products and implementations Review and creation of production code for core products Review and creation of code for client projects and integration Testing, debugging, and releasing production code Maintenance of codebase for a variety of products Creation and review of engineering documentation Integration of 3rd party APIs across various platforms

Key Qualifications/Requirements

5+ years of experience in Software Development, UX, NodeJS, Embedded C/C++ Excellence and leadership in API design and software architecture Software Engineering Degree, Bachelor's or higher in a related field Portfolio demonstrating full stack integration Fluency in English, both written and spoken Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.

Nice to Haves

Hobby experience in web development, programming, electronics Examples of personal projects demonstrating competence in software/hardware Interest in consumer electronics technology, gaming, AR/VR, tech trends Proficiency in other languages, especially Chinese, Japanese, and Korean

Skills and Competencies

Compensation and Benefits

CAD$115,000-$150,000 + Employee Stock Options (Full time) CAD$65 - 85/hour (Contractor or Part-time) Flexible hours and vacation
