As a

Software Engineer

on the Earner Segmentation team, you'll help build the

next generation of scheduling

as a first-class product for couriers. This system enables couriers to

reserve time slots in advance

, creating better earning opportunities and more predictable access to work.



You'll work on

high-impact, large-scale challenges

, such as:

Creating

intuitive, reliable, and trustworthy experiences

for couriers Designing and implementing systems that

balance supply and demand

in real time Developing scalable algorithms for

fair and efficient shift allocation

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

- What the Candidate Will Do -

Work cross-functionally with engineers, scientists and product managers to find ways to improve efficiency and provide a better experience for our users Participate in the

full development cycle

from ideation to architecture design, to implementation, to productionization Build scalable software systems that handle some of the highest traffic system at the company


- Basic Qualifications -

BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in software engineering Strong experience in

backend development

(e.g., Go, Java, or Python) Familiarity with

distributed systems

,

service-oriented architecture

, and

data-driven decision making

- Preferred Qualifications -

Collaborative mindset and ability to work across

product, science, and design

teams Experience working on products that have a user experience involved








For Canada-based roles: The base salary range for this role is CAD$136,000 per year - CAD$151,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
