Software Engineer II



We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our NIOS Platform team, based in Burnaby, CA, reporting to the director of Software Engineering. In this key role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting core platform features that power our industry-leading NIOS platform. You'll collaborate closely with Distinguished Engineers, Architects, QA, Product Security, and Customer Escalation teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. As a critical contributor to the evolution of Infoblox's next-generation DDI services, you will help shape software architecture, enhance product security, and drive platform scalability and performance.


Key Responsibilities:



Translate product requirements into detailed technical specifications Design and implement high-quality, maintainable, and testable code Produce comprehensive design and test documentation Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement Collaborate across teams to resolve complex technical challenges

Be a Contributor -- What You'll Do



Design, develop, and debug software modules for the NIOS DDI platform Write high-quality code using Linux, C/C++, Python, and XML Apply your knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Linux internals, and networking stacks Create detailed design documents and comprehensive test plans Collaborate with product architects, senior engineers, QA, and support teams to resolve complex technical challenges

Be Prepared -- What You Bring



5+ years of professional experience in software engineering Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: C, C++, Python, or Java Excellent problem-solving abilities and interpersonal communication skills

Be Successful -- Your Path



First 90 Days:

Immerse in our culture, connect with mentors (Blox Buddies), and map the systems and meet with key stakeholders that rely on your work. Discuss and create short/long term goals.


Six Months:

Understand key functionalities of the core NIOS/vNIOS platforms. Contribute and participate in analyzing, providing root cause analysis, and solutions for NIOS issues.


One Year:

Provide technical leadership for the core platform team. Play a major role in analyzing, designing, delivering, and maintaining core platform features and NIOS issues.
