IT Solutions creates custom software solutions to meet business needs. We also work with existing vendor platforms to integrate business processes between them (e.g.: billing system orders to modem activations). The Software Engineer creates software solutions to solve business problems by working with the business and a software engineering team to identify requirements, create design specifications, develop/build/test/deploy/operate software solutions.

Responsibilities:

Software Development:

• Execute the full software development life cycle.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
• Write well designed, reusable, testable code to create solutions that meet business needs.
• Integrate software components into fully functional software systems.
• Contribute to the evolution of our software development practices and architecture.

Operational support:

• Operate and maintain software solutions built by ITS.
• Support operational teams in the support and troubleshooting of production systems.

System support and maintenance

• Participate in the review, maintenance, and evolution of existing software solutions.

Documentation

• Create and maintain documentation for software solutions and processes.

Requirements:

Post-secondary education in Software engineering, programming, software development or similar programs. In addition, the following skills are needed:

• Minimum of 7 years enterprise Java Development experience.
• Familiar with Java frameworks and libraries, such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Experience with at least one of: PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Mysql, or Oracle.
• Experience with using DevOps tools and methodologies (source control (GIT), unit testing, bug tracking, continuous integration.)
• Linux and shell scripting experience.
• Team player with strong communication skills; both verbal and written
