You will build the foundational technology required for satellites, launch vehicles, and human missions to operate safely and efficiently in the harsh space environment


As part of our small, high-velocity team, you'll work at the intersection of aerospace, autonomy, and applied AI, solving real-world challenges with immediate mission impact.

Requirements

We are looking for a full stack engineer with

2 - 4 years of experience in the industry

to design, build, and ship production code across our web portal, APIs, and backend systems. You'll work closely with our engineers and scientists to turn models and forecasts into usable products that customers can access via the portal and APIs.

This role is ideal for entrepreneurial engineers who move fast, take initiative, thrive in ambiguity, and be part of a demanding startup environment.

Responsibilities

Build a multi-page web application using Python and Django (or comparable frameworks). Implement authentication, user dashboards, and role-based access. Create clean interfaces for browsing data products, visualizations, and alerts. Develop and maintain APIs for external data consumption. Manage deployments, CI/CD, monitoring, and cloud setup (AWS, Docker, etc.). Ensure scalability, performance, and security best practices.

Must-Have Skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment: this is not a slow-paced role. If you're motivated by intensity, impact, and growth, you'll fit right in. Backend Development: Python and Django, API design (RESTful), authentication (JWT/API keys, SSO), documentation with Swagger/OpenAPI. Scalable Data APIs: Experience designing APIs that serve large datasets efficiently, with attention to query performance, caching, and latency. Frontend Development: HTML, CSS (TailwindCSS preferred), JavaScript with experience in server-side rendering (not SPA). Database Experience: PostgreSQL, including time-series data, caching, and performance tuning. Data Visualization: Experience with Plotly.js, D3.js, Chart.js, or similar libraries. Alerting & Messaging: Experience integrating email notifications and webhook integrations. Security: Understanding of secure coding practices. DevOps: Cloud deployments (AWS preferred), Docker, CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration: Git and modern development workflows (branches, PRs, reviews). Ability to deliver production-ready, maintainable code with minimal oversight.

Nice-to-Haves

Prior experience in an early stage startup Familiarity with working beyond simple relational tables - e.g., large numeric arrays, spatiotemporal datasets, or other high-dimensional data. Experience with columnar or object storage formats, partitioning strategies, and query acceleration techniques. Comfort with profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing systems that need to deliver fast responses over big data. Interest in scientific/technical data products.
