We are hiring for multiple co-op/intern positions that vary between on-site and hybrid ? students will be required to work at the Markham office on a schedule based on the needs of the hiring team. COVID-19 protocols are being strictly followed.

Program Term

This role is a 4-month position
September 11, 2023 to December 22, 2023
Must be returning to school following the internship

The Role

Do you want to help improve experiences of cutting-edge AMD products? If so, AMD Software team is the right place for you. We develop applications for external and internal use as well as large scale systems that improve the productivity of AMD SW organization.

What you?ll be doing

You will deliver the software required to support the next Generation AMD GPU and enable our leading Cloud partners! This is your opportunity to work on complex software development, plan its deliverables and then track its execution all the way until Launch.

What you?ll learn

Visibility to software development cycle: design, documentation, implementation, debugging and validation
Lab skills: building computer systems, component instrumentation, test management, and data acquisition.
Teamwork: working amongst a team of professionals with diverse skills and experiences to gather and provide information and updates, learn new methods and complete projects in an efficient manner
Preparation on working in the field: Work with a very experienced and talented group of Software Engineers to get ready for one of the most sought-after jobs in the industry

Requirements

General Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field/discipline
Proven interpersonal skills, technical excellence and teamwork
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
Must be participating in a registered co-op program

Preferred Technical Qualifications

Languages: C, C++, Python/Perl/Shell, R, VBA, Selenium, System Verilog, SQL (or other database technologies)
Experience developing thin client Web Applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript preferably with modern web frameworks such as Angular or React
Experience with Linux
Experience with debugging and fixing existing driver issues
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Tensorflow or PyTorch
Best practices of software development, including testing, profiling, debug techniques, documentation, version control, issue tracking, planning, and program management
