About the role:Samsara\'s Trailers & Equipment teams focus on delivering solutions for trailer and powered equipment tracking. We help customers understand the utilization of trailers, and the location of expensive assets, and provide them with insight into the health of equipment. We ingest large amounts of data from our hardware in real time and help customers make sense of their overall logistics through real-time visibility, reporting, and alerting.As a software engineer focusing on full-stack at Samsara, you will design and develop features touching many parts of our system that have a tangible impact on customers. You\'ll tackle engineering challenges ranging from database architecture for scale, presenting analytics in an intuitive way for users, and performant ways to display insights on mobile and web.We use Golang for our backend, Typescript and React for our web client, GraphQL to fetch data from our backend, and React Native for our mobile app. Direct experience with these technologies is not required.This role is open to candidates residing in Canada.You should apply if:

In this role, you will:
  • Help customers visualize the status of thousands of gateways concurrently on country-scale maps
  • Collaborate with other engineers as well as product and design to build, test, and ship new features to help our customers get the most out of their equipment.
  • Bring a customer-focused mindset to all development, thinking through how our customers use our software and how best to meet their needs
  • Help foster an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment within the team and the larger engineering organization
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara\'s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Has 2+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
  • Strong programming/coding fundamentals and has led technical projects
  • Have built or worked on production applications
An ideal candidate also:
  • Enjoys understanding our users and what would make their day-to-day processes easier to manage
  • Loves shipping features that are immediately used by our customers
  • Seeks to iterate on new products based on customer feedback
