Siemens Battery Accelerator seeking a Software Engineer specialized in Computer Vision to contribute to the design and development of petabyte scale vision and image analysis solutions, working with data collected from a variety of industrial camera systems at battery gigafactories.

Our team in Canada is responsible for building state-of-the-art IIoT platforms and global-scale data systems that serve our partnering gigafactories worldwide, as well as our internal teams of experts.

This is a hybrid role based out of our newly established office in Kitchener, ON. What you will do:

  • Design and develop robust and scalable vision and image analysis solutions tailored for battery manufacturing environments, utilizing data from a variety of industrial camera systems and
  • Create algorithms and processes for the integration of vision and sensor data, ensuring cohesive and efficient data analysis across manufacturing steps.
  • Develop high-performance and low-latency real-time image analysis solutions for deployment on edge devices.
  • Collaborate closely with data, platform, and application engineers to ensure seamless, end-to-end integration of vision solutions into the broader manufacturing optimization platforms.
  • Engage in MLOps and ML Engineering activities to streamline the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning models in production environments, including edge, public cloud, and private cloud environments.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with specialization in computer v
  • 5+ years of experience focused on the design, development, and deployment of computer vision systems in industrial, research, or technological contexts.
  • In-depth practical and theoretical expertise in deep learning and its applications in computer vision.
  • Strong understanding of Software Engineering principles and practices, as well as proficiency in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency with Python and C/C++.
Preferred qualifications:
  • PhD in Computer Vision, Machine Vision, Deep Learning, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with WebSocket, gRPC, and MQTT protocols.
  • Experience interfacing with industrial camera systems.
  • Experience working with international teams.
  • Proficiency with Golang.
