Software Engineer
We have an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our Universal Asset Insights team in based in Burnaby, BC, reporting to the senior director of Software Engineering. In this role, you will work on Infoblox Universal Asset Insights, which automates the discovery and analysis of both IP-based and non-IP-based assets across public clouds, on-premises networks, IoT/OT devices, and third-party applications. Integrated with Infoblox's critical network services, including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM, it enhances network visibility and IPAM accuracy. You will work closely with Product management & engineering leadership to execute product roadmap & also engineering goals of building scalable, reliable & maintainable software.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement high-quality, maintainable, and testable code
Produce comprehensive design and test documentation
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement
Collaborate across teams to resolve complex technical challenges
Be Prepared -- What You Bring
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in software engineering or a master's or an advanced degree without prior experience
Understanding of data structures and data flows across systems, and how this supports business processes and workflows
Programming knowledge of C, C++/Python/Go, and Java with Linux/Unix environment
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl and/or Python is an added advantage
Solid problem-solving skills with strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Familiarity with REST and gRPC frameworks
Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP (highly desirable)
Knowledge of databases, caching technologies (Redis), and messaging systems (Kafka) is a plus
Performance analysis and profiling skills
Understanding of cloud APIs from AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, IBM Cloud, and similar platforms
Understanding of network monitoring, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and automation infrastructure using various interfaces such as SSE, gNMI, gRPC, SNMP, SNMP Trap, REST, RESTCONF, NETCONF, sFlow, and NetFlow
Some understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, common protocols, routing, switching, STP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, IPAM, DHCP, LLDP, and DPI, combined with hands-on experience with tools for packet capture and sniffing such as Wireshark and tcpdump

First 90 Days:

Understand key functionalities of the core Threat Data & Insights platforms. Contribute to analyzing, providing root cause analysis, and delivering solutions for issues within the platform.

Provide technical leadership for the core Threat Data & Insights team. Play a major role in analyzing, designing, delivering, and maintaining core platform features and resolving platform issues.
