You and your team are charged with building secure endpoints and remote systems that monitor and control billions of daily user interactions with sensitive customer data. Protect our customer information by building systems that apply access control, detect sensitive data exposure, prevent data loss, enforce compliance, audit and detect malware. Keep the business running by building on-device real-time continuous monitoring, preventive security controls with six 9s accuracy and scalable distributed services with six 9s availability.Key job responsibilities
As a software development manager on the Stores Security team, you will lead a team of world-class engineers to invent scalable and performant software solutions ranging from operating system features to server-less ecosystems in the cloud. To succeed in the role, you must be capable of solving complex technical challenges, understand endpoint security fundamentals and be passionate about career growth of engineers you manage. You must balance security requirements against needs of the business and know what it means to own mission-critical systems that are used to handle millions of customer contacts daily. Your role involves recruiting, mentoring, motivating and retaining talented engineers, and managing their performance.A day in the life
The Stores Security team\'s mission is to assess risk, classify data and systems, detect potential intrusion, and respond quickly to security events across Amazon\'s critical business functions, including Retail, Customer Service and Worldwide Operations. We collaborate with business teams across Amazon to build security best practices into their mechanisms.About the team

- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Knowledge of core security principles such as Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Authentication, Authorization, Least Privilege, and Defense in Depth and expertise in identifying and evaluating potential threats and vulnerabilities, risk assessments, and implementing mitigation strategies.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
