Additionally, our employees rank us highly in terms of commitment to work-life balance and a company culture committed to caring for our employees.If you are looking for a company that inspires passion and personal and professional growth, come join Kobo and come help us make reading lives better.The Role:Rakuten Kobo Inc. is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Store team!The ideal candidate will play a vital role in all aspects of delivery from design, planning and implementation through to releasing and monitoring.Key Responsibilities:Create and execute comprehensible, repeatable, and measurable regression test suites for existing functionalityCreate and maintain Integration/Acceptance/UI Tests as part of each story during developmentCreate and maintain end-to-end tests & documentationAssist in reviewing business requirements and identify gaps/conflicts with the existing systemCollaborate with software developers and quality assurance analysts to ensure the deliverables meet testing requirements and coverageCollaborate with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to ensure requirements are understood and implemented to a high standardEscalate issues to management quickly and effectivelyLog defects and work closely with developers to investigate, troubleshoot and verify defect fixesInvolved with all stages of testing and support of the productProactively monitor Production during releases, create and maintain alerts in relevant monitoring toolsThe Skillset:Non-TechnicalA passion for Software QualityAbility to work effectively on a self-organizing team with minimal supervisionExcellent oral and written communication skillsProactive and creative problem solver with the ability to multitask and manage tight deadlinesResearch and analytical skillsExperience working in an agile teamDesired Technical Skills:A degree in Computer Science or a related program4+ years experience in software test automationExperience in analyzing data and extracting relevant and actionable insightsBack end testing experience, both black box and white boxProgramming background with experience in C# or a similar OOP languageSome experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworksExperience in testing REST APIsExperience with both SQL and NoSQL databasesExperience analyzing logs to find the root cause of errorsExperience using containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesFamiliarity with Git or any similar version control systemFamiliarity with CI/CD tools like JenkinsExperience working with Observability toolsNice to Haves:Experience using JMeter for performance testingExperience using Azure DevOpsExperience using Ruby/Ruby on RailsISTQB or similar certificationAbout Rakuten Kobo Inc.Owned by Tokyo-based Rakuten and headquartered in Toronto, Rakuten Kobo Inc. is one of the most advanced global ecommerce companies, with the world\xe2\x80\x99s most innovative eReading services offering more than 6 million eBooks and audiobooks to 30 million + customers in 190 countries.
