Role Overview



Triacta Power Solutions, a division of Metergy Solutions Inc., is seeking a

Software Developer

to join our engineering team. This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Carleton Place facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Triacta's industry-leading electricity meters, configuration tools, and cloud-based meter management systems through a combination of automated testing, manual validation, and development support.

As a Software Developer (SDET), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test strategies while contributing to the development of Triacta's custom meter software platforms which include electricity meters, cloud-based meters and data management systems.

Key Responsibilities



Learn about all Triacta products, and what the test setup would look like to cover all possible configurations and environments. Developing and executing tests to ensure product quality across various configurations and environments. Collaborating with developers to understand system architecture and source code to identify potential issues early in the development cycle, along with performing peer source code reviews. Installing and configuring software and hardware test environments. Tracking software changes, maintaining release notes, and contributing to technical documentation. Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using tools like Jira or Bugzilla. Contributing to software development tasks as needed, including debugging and minor feature implementation.

Required Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of software

QA methodologies, tools, and processes

. Experience with

automated testing

frameworks and scripting. Proficiency in programming languages such as

C, C#, Python, JavaScript, and shell scripting

. Familiarity with web technologies

(

ASP.Net

, HTML, PHP, Bootstrap, JQuery).

Experience with data formats and databases

(SQLite, JSON, XML, CSV).

Knowledge of

embedded systems, Linux, and real-time operating systems.

Experience with version control

(Git)

and issue tracking systems.

Bonus Points!



Understanding of electrical power systems and metering technologies. Experience with

Visual Studio

and legacy Web Forms applications. Familiarity with embedded build systems

(Yocto, OpenEmbedded, BitBake

). Strong grasp of OS-level concepts in Windows and Linux environments.
