The Software Developer works with industrial computers over wireless networks in an integrated client/server environment. The primary focus of this role is designing, developing and supporting systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Software Developers professional experience will contribute to generating innovative design and customize process feedback solutions.

  • Maintain and support existing applications and systems
  • Develop new applications
  • Provide application support to end users
  • Work with vendors to update and modify third-party systems
  • Troubleshoot mill application software to minimize outages
  • Resolve data issues on control systems under tight deadlines
  • Shared on-call support duties with other team members
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Software Systems Engineering
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience designing, developing and deploying applications within a Microsoft .NET environment
  • Technical strengths in several of the following Microsoft technologies:
+ Visual Studio VB / C# / ASP.NET
+ Visual C++
+ SQL Server and Management Studio
+ Windows Presentation Framework (WPF)
+ Windows Communication Framework (WCF)
+ Entity Data Model (EDM)
+ Reporting Services
  • Experience with SCADA HMI development using Proficy iFIX or WinCC and PLC communications would be considered an asset
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Collaborative team player
  • Open minded and innovative
  • Applicants must be comfortable in an industrial setting and be willing to take after hour calls in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
