Purpose

National Logistics Services (NLS) is looking for a strong intermediate software developer to augment their Systems Integrations team. This role will be responsible for partnering with our internal developer in modifying and enhancing source code for software applications involved in the system to system interfaces, data flow and integration middleware.

Responsibilities

• \xe2\x80\x8bDesign, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable C# code for EDI and data translations
• Test, promote and verify programs and systems
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing applications and services
• Investigate and solve production problems
• Develop quality assurance procedures and error handling
• Recommend and execute improvements
• Work closely with Integration Leads and WMi Developers
• Any other tasks as reasonably required

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science or Networking courses or equivalent, or combination of education and experience in computer systems technology with a minimum 3-5 years software development
• Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role
• Experience in C# and at least .net Framework, .net Standard, or .net Core, although C++, Java, JavaScript will be considered
• Experience with file formats: EDI, XML, JSON, XLS, and CSV
• Experience with File Transfer protocol FTP, SFTP, AS2, etc.
• Experience with software design and structured code promotion.
• Knowledge of coding methodologies such as clean architecture with S.O.L.I.D design principles
• Experience with RESTful api\xe2\x80\x99s
• Comfortable in a Scrum/Kanban environment with emphasis on continuous delivery, automated testing, pair programming and rigorous peer review.
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
• The desire to work in fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 both written and verbal
• Experience with relational databases
• Experience in Microsoft Azure is an asset
• Experience in IBM Power Series and System i is an asset
• Experience in ETL and integration between systems is an asset
