Transcontinental is in the digital transformation of manufacturing operations. This transformation leads the IT team, Manufacturing Efficiency Technologies to deploy new innovative solutions to automate our operations and provide essential information for decision-making (MES, IoT, AR).

Your main mandate will be to participate in various projects to improve manufacturing operations to ensure success and the achievement of defined objectives.

Workplace: Telecommuting in hybrid mode (1 day per week in person). Our offices are located at 5800 St-Denis Street (across from Rosemont metro). Occasional availability outside of regular hours is required.

Your daily routine will look like this:

Development of software solutions

• Design, develop and maintain software solutions to meet the company\'s business needs.
• Develop technical documents and optimize the design of the MES solution.

Quality control (see details below)

Test solutions

• Perform \xe2\x80\x9cend to end\xe2\x80\x9d tests between several applications.
• Develop test plans, scripts, and test reports.
• Identify progress, defects, and associated risks.

Validation of performance and quality

• Monitor and maintain high levels of security, reliability, and performance.
• Perform a complex and precise troubleshooting to identify root causes of problems identified by the operations and support teams.
• Perform code review to verify changes made by other developers.

Equipment IoT connectivity

• Perform system configuration and integrate software solutions into control systems.
• Integrate and process data from various industrial automation systems and equipment.

Who we are looking for

• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Automated Production Engineering or relevant combination of experience and education
• Experience in Python development
• Experience in designing and implementing web user interfaces (UI)
• Experience in software quality assurance, functional testing, and software quality best practices
• Skills in database design and programming
• Passionate about IoT technology and integration with software, hardware - interest in real-time systems
• Knowledge of Ignition (inductive automation) SCADA, a remarkable asset
• Ability to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing
