We are building the next level of charging as a service, taking complete ownership and control of the charging infrastructure, the scheduling of the vehicles, the cloud platform, and the utility meter xe2x80x93 in order to provide the highest availability and resilience in the market. In this way, we will accelerate the adoption of electric-powered fleets by optimizing the delivery of power and making refueling seamless and efficient. By taking control of the utility meter, and optimizing EV charge rate and vehicle process flow, EV CaaS provides the lowest cost of electric fueling possible.What will you do?As a backend Software Developer, youxe2x80x99ll have the opportunity to design, develop and own various aspects of the Depot360 solution. You will operate alongside team members of the software developmentgroup, building new software features and exploring new ways of solving complex problems related to the electric vehicle domain. Note: This is a 1 year contract opportunity with possibility of extension.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and write code in Java or other object orientated languages following the teamxe2x80x99s coding standards and development process.
  • Provide reliable and quality design to a variety of complex problems and requirements using sound problem solving techniques.
  • Utilize software development tools such as IDEs, configuration management system, build processes, etc. on a daily basis.
  • Estimate level of effort, evaluate design options, offer suggestions and improve processes, and provide comments on software design aspects.
  • Add value and collaborate with the team by participating in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
  • Mentor junior developers to help them improve their coding practices.
  • Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.
What will you need to succeed?
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Programming or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in software development.
  • Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience with Java based web development and Spring framework.
  • Experience with stream processing technologies such as Kafka.
  • Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
  • Experience with web services and Service Orientated Architecture.
  • Experience with SQL databases including Postgres.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development process.
  • Full product/software development lifecycle experience (SDLC).
Competencies:
  • Excellent Technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Coaching other team members.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills in English, is essential.
The successful candidate for this position must be bilingual. Fluency in French and English (verbal and written) is required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position for the following reason(s):
  • The role requires interacting with English-speaking customers and suppliers across Canada and/or internationally
