Position
Clir is looking for an intern or a co-op student to join our Vancouver-based Tech Delivery team.
We are focused on changing the renewable energy industry and as an Intern/Co-op Software Developer, you will have an opportunity to be part of this mission. We are looking for a candidate who wants to do work that has an impact, not just in the industry but also on the environment. Your ability to ask questions, solve problems, and be an integral part of an open collaborative team will be a catalyst for your success.

What the different Tech Teams are working on, and you'll be a part of
  • Learn and apply Clir's development best practices
  • Work closely with your colleagues to help meet your team's objectives and goals
  • Develop, implement and test new software features as part of your team
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software functionality
  • Onboarding new renewable energy assets into Clir's software
  • Assist developers with the development and maintenance of the data pipeline, data infrastructure, and web application
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing software
  • Participate in scoping and sizing project work with your team
What you'll need
  • A mindset of continuous improvement
  • Experience in delivering written and verbal technical feedback in the form of code reviews to peers
  • Familiarity with effective agile and software development practices such as scrum/kanban, CI/CD, test automation, and infrastructure as code
  • Background in Computer Science and/or developer experience
Bonus
  • Experience with any of: Go, Python, React, MySQL, Airflow, and AWS systems
  • Understanding and knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Ability to write internal technical documentation
