Job Description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Junior-Intermediate AI Software Developer to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Hybrid (3 days per week onsite) and the Client is based in Richmond, BC.
Summary of the Role
The role supports the development of AI-enabled prototypes and software solutions within an experimental, fast-paced environment. Working as part of an AI-augmented team, the position focuses on designing, building, and testing early-stage concepts that improve software development efficiency and stability. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career technologist with demonstrated curiosity in emerging technologies and interest in contributing to next-generation development practices.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an AI-augmented team to design and build rapid prototypes and proofs-of-concept.
  • Support the full solution lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and evaluation.
  • Research and assess emerging technologies, bringing experimental ideas forward for team exploration.
  • Contribute to governance and guardrails to support safe transition of prototypes into production environments.
  • Work with cross-functional partners in an agile setting to iterate on concepts and deliver solutions aligned with team objectives.
Core Requirements
Recent graduate from a Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related STEM program.
Experience designing and building prototypes using AI-native development concepts.
Experience applying techniques such as prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, context management, and RAG.
Experience supporting full lifecycle development from design through deployment.
Experience researching emerging technologies and proposing new approaches for experimentation.
Desired Skills & Experience
Exposure to cloud and AI platforms such as Azure AI, OpenAI, AWS, or similar.
Experience with a modern programming language (e.g., Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
Experience developing personal or academic AI, ML, or automation projects.
Familiarity with agile practices, DevOps concepts, or full-stack development.
Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Terms
This is a 12-month Contract position. The role follows a Hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days per week onsite in Richmond, BC. Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check and reference checks prior to an offer.
