Job Description

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Software Developer will develop an online registry for the OPTIMISING ACCESS project based on provided functional specifications.
Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and interpret functional requirements for the design and development of an acute stroke registry.
  • Design, write, read, test, and correct code for the registry development according to predefined specifications. Design interactive and visually appealing front-end features for the base registry forms according to specifications.
  • Implement seamless transfer of registry data from front-end forms into database, and required user partitioning and security features into registry. Integrate interactive data visualizations for outcomes of registry data according to user needs and specifications.
  • Deploy the developed software registry onto Azure or another determined platform. Maintain registry and check for and rectify bugs. Correctly assign and monitor user privileges in accordance to defined security and privacy requirements.
  • Develop and regularly update detailed documentation of registry development timelines and milestones in line with timely delivery of project outcomes. Write document for software development process and decision matrices for code set.
  • Orient and train new developers assigned to the project, and divide and apportion development duties as required in collaboration with co-developers.
Note
The successful applicant will primarily work remotely from within Nova Scotia with occasional presence in-person on-campus to meet client needs and operation requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Knowledge of relational database design and deployment.
  • Knowledge of web development with react.js or similar.
  • Knowledge of C# programming or similar (e.g. Java).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Assets
  • Knowledge of cloud deployment to AWS or similar.
