Making this happen is the mission of every engineer on the Amazon Canada Tech Team.We are currently looking for talented Software Development Engineers to join our engineering group in Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON. Ideal candidates are leaders and trailblazers who aren\'t afraid of tackling systems of massive scale and layered complexity. They are able to deliver on ambiguous requirements by putting themselves in the shoes of our customers to deliver the right experience. They are passionate about writing code and love to build distributed systems that are transactional, scalable, high throughput, fault tolerant and always available. They are able to design and develop beautiful front-end UI as well as the massively scalable back-end services to support it. We\'re looking for engineers who are comfortable driving the end to end solution and who can do so in an autonomous creative manner. If this describes you, then we would love to discuss this opportunity further!We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Toronto, ON, CAN | Vancouver, BC, CANBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- 2+ years of building production software experience
- Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilitiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or equivalent

Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
