Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software and Control Systems Manager to oversee the design and development of control systems for off-highway vehicles and mobile equipment. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, resource management, and project planning for a team of 6-8 software and control engineers. This position requires a strong background in control systems development, safety standards, and software tools, as well as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead a team of software and control systems engineers in designing and developing advanced control systems for off-highway and mobile equipment.
- Ensure compliance with industry control system safety standards and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions.
- Oversee project planning, resource allocation, and execution to meet timelines and deliverables.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
- Utilize tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CODESYS, Linux, Jira, and Bitbucket in the development and validation of control software.
- Conduct system analysis, simulation, and validation to optimize performance and reliability.
- Support field testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of control systems, including travel to customer sites as required.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in control systems engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license (required).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in control systems development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of control system safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508, ISO 25119, or equivalent).
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for control system modeling and simulation.
- Experience with CODESYS, embedded software development, and real-time control systems.
- Knowledge of Linux-based systems and scripting for control software applications.
- Hands-on experience with Jira for project management and Bitbucket (or other version control systems) for software configuration management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate team efforts to meet project goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as needed for on-site support, testing, and customer interactions.

Pay: $85,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
