Position SummaryReconciling Perspectives and Building Public Memory: Learning from the Independent Assessment Process was a multi-year, national Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) funded research project. This short project is part of the knowledge mobilization from the study. The project, Reparations and Reconciliation: A Playreading of Owl Calling with a Post-show Discussion and Conversation with Elders involves producing a dramaturgical reading along with an Indigenous Elders\' Panel.We need 2 students (one undergraduate and one graduate) with background in theatre arts and good organizational skills. Students will assist in planning, coordinating and producing a dramaturgical readings of the play Owl Calling with an Indigenous Elders response Panel.
Position Requirements-Demonstrated knowledge of theatre productions;\xc2\xb7Experience working with Indigenous Elders;\xc2\xb7Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
-Indigenous language an asset;\xc2\xb7Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently;\xc2\xb7 Communication and social media skills;\xc2\xb7 Experience working with Indigenous people and organizations, including Indian Residential School Survivors and elders preferred.The funding for this project was augmented by the Dept of Sociology and Social studies so, preference will be to have one student currently a graduate student (Masters or PhD) in Sociology and Social Studies with community-based research and theatre background, and preference will be given to have one student from theatre arts with Indigenous backgrounds.
