Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Tasks

Evaluate the effectiveness of social programs Interview client individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required Take authorized protective action when necessary Perform administrative tasks Provide counsel and therapy to help clients resolve social and personal problems Plan programs of assistance for clients Refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services Provide public education and consultation regarding counselling services, issues and methods Conduct social research Write research papers, educational texts and articles Apply for social program funding Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes
