Job Description

Job Summary: The Social Worker provides individual and group counselling services to various elementary schools. Our Social Workers counsel and work with individuals and groups, parents, school personnel and outside agencies, and support schools with their knowledge of prevention, intervention practices and programs.The Social Worker works in conjunction with our dedicated team of professionals and support staff to create a positive, faith-filled learning environment.Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Social Work (preference will be given to candidates with a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Social Work)
• Registered or eligible for registration in SASW (Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers)
• Understanding and experience implementing Indigenous counselling perspectives and practices
• Ability to make contributions to an integrated team of professionals as well as provide leadership in the area of student engagement and culturally responsive school practices
• Demonstrate flexibility to prioritize and respond to the emerging social emotional needs of students
• Ability to facilitate professional development with a focus on engagement, differentiation, and resilience, with deference to Indigenous worldview and theories of practice
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
• A commitment to community development and student and family engagement
• Participation in a Catholic Church community with a commitment to the ideals and principles of Catholic education
• Presence in Indigenous communities and participation in spiritual-cultural practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable transportation

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• As per Collective Agreement
• 3.625 hrs/day
• Start date August 26, 2024
• Salary range - Corresponding hourly rate as per CUPE 2268 CBA
