Your Opportunity:
This is an exciting leadership opportunity with the Pediatric Community Rehabilitation (PCR) Programs in Allied Health Community - Edmonton Zone. Reporting to the Manager, Allied Health Community, the Social Worker III - Team Lead is responsible and accountable for: Working with staff to implement supported practices and participating in zone/provincial initiatives. Coordinating day-to-day planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of services - including but not limited to orientation, waitlist management, workload/utilization, system training, resource management and student placements. The planning/implementation/evaluation of clinical services; Mentor and support skill development to facilitate effective clinical service delivery by providing strong clinical leadership and support to the social work team as well as the PCR program as a whole; interfacing with a variety of rehabilitation disciplines including, but not limited to, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Infant and Child Development Specialists, Psychology, Therapy Assistants and administrative support staff; maintaining strong communication links with Allied Health management and clinical leaders; supporting staff in the provision of evidence-informed practice and alignment with organizational and departmental mission, vision and values; reporting and supporting the implementation of corrective actions for concerns identified related to patient and/or staff safety; and provision of direct client care services. The Social Work Team Lead develops and maintains strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with the PCR leadership team to support staff in the provision of seamless, high quality and sustainable patient care.
Description:
As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have in-depth clinical knowledge and skills with 3-5 years clinical experience in the area of pediatric services, with a focus on rehabilitation. Demonstrated leadership experience required. The incumbent is expected to work, adapt, and respond within a complex ever-changing environment, employing problem solving, decision making, and critical thinking skills while working both independently and as part of various teams. The successful candidate must be an effective communicator with strong assessment, organizational, problem solving and counseling skills. The ability to develop both collegial and therapeutic relationships and the ability to navigate sensitive situations is required. The Social Work Team Lead will be required to maintain adequate clinical records, provide social work consultation to other staff and providers and to mentor students/staff. The successful candidate must be receptive to receiving and providing constructive feedback. Strong customer service focus while supporting a broad spectrum of internal and external customers/stakeholders is required. A sound understanding of community rehabilitation services and the social determinants of health as well as proficient knowledge and skill in the use of various computer applications including Microsoft 365 apps, virtual health platforms, and Connect Care is also required. This position provides direct client services and acts in a frontline leadership capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with neurodiverse populations. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams in a community setting considered an asset. Knowledge of pediatric resources in the Edmonton zone and across the province.
