Your Opportunity:Opioid use is a serious problem in Alberta that requires a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable approach to prevent and reduce harms related to opioid dependence. Strategies have been implemented to address this problem, including enhanced psychosocial support to people accessing care and their families. The Opioid Dependency Program (ODP) and Narcotic Transition Services (NTS) provide medication as well as numerous other supports to people diagnosed with an opioid use disorder to support them in their recovery. We are seeking an experienced, caring, strength-based professional to complement our Health Services Team. Working from a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach, the Social Worker II will be responsible for a variety of services from resource brokerage to counselling. The provision of assessments of clients wanting to access services, as well as supporting clients in applications, psychosocial support, risk screening, counselling, case management & coordination, transition planning, health prevention & promotion and accessing other community services. The position will function in the context of an interdisciplinary team that provides quality, client-focused, recovery-based, and concurrent capable and culturally sensitive care to those accessing services. The Social Worker position also involves consultation and collaboration with inter-professional team members internal and external to AHS.
