The University of Alberta Hospital offers a wide range of services, including cardiac sciences, neurosciences, surgery, medicine, critical care, burns, transplant, renal, and a vast number of ambulatory clinics. This position is part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program and will be responsible for providing social work services to the adult populations across acute care, with a focus on Neurosciences units. The candidate will be a highly motivated, confident, and dependable individual who collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, patients and their families in a busy environment ensuring trauma-informed care. The SW will hold a working knowledge of the health care system, SDoH, and community resources to support psychosocial interventions such as complex discharge planning, financial assessments, crisis intervention, decision making, advocacy, consultation with care providers, and liaising with internal/external agencies.
