Your Opportunity:This Social Worker II position will be working with the Crisis team at the Northern Light Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray. The Crisis Team provides exemplary mental health care for patients in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment. Services include comprehensive addiction and mental health assessment, short-term intervention and treatment. Also includes coordination of community outpatient follow-up and facilitation of admission when required. The Crisis Team is committed to the alleviation of stigma and discrimination related to mental health and addiction. The Social Worker models professional leadership and provides decision-making support by collaborating and delegating within the inter-professional team. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Additional Required Qualifications:A minimum of 1 year direct crisis experience. Minimum 2 years\' experience working in and Addiction and Mental Health setting. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (or successful completion as part of clinical orientation) is required. Demonstrated knowledge of the application of the Mental Health Act, Consent and Capacity.
