Your Opportunity:

We are looking for a personable, reliable, and skilled individual for a 6-month temporary full time (1.0 FTE) Social Worker. This position will be working out of the Cardston Health Centre primarily but will also be asked to support the Cardston Addiction and Mental Health Clinic at the Cardston Provincial Building. The successful applicant will complete robust needs assessments and create appropriate social work-oriented treatment plans for clients and their families, including supportive counselling and case management. The successful applicant will help connect clients to community resources and provide the necessary support and advocacy to assist with housing, AISH, Social Services, and the like. As a Registered Social Worker, the successful applicant will maintain their own caseload of clients with complex needs. This position does not require authorization to perform psychosocial interventions as no unsupervised restricted activities will be required. The ideal candidate for this role will be a Registered Social Worker with a minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree in social work (BSW) and have considerable experience in crisis counselling, conflict resolution and case management. To be successful in this role the Social Worker requires an in-depth knowledge of community resources as well as contacts within same. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function well as part of a small team as well as independently. This position reports to the Manager of the Rural Addiction and Mental Health Community Clinics.

Description:

As a Social Worker I, you will be a member of a multi- disciplinary team that provides mental health services to individuals, families and/or groups at a community based facility. You will be responsible for the initial screening of patients by gathering and documenting client information, basic assessment and providing support to clients and their families\' short-term needs. You will liaise with and refer clients to appropriate community and government services and support, along with participating in case conferences and team meetings.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Additional Required Qualifications:

1 year of experience in a Social Work role. BSW, RSW required. Excellent interpersonal skills. Computer skills sufficient to work successfully with Microsoft Office, type own notes into the electronic health records, and use virtual platforms such as MS Teams and Zoom. Preferred Qualifications:

Standard First Aid preferred. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention preferred.
