The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewReporting to the Program Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the delivery of direct client service including individual, group and family therapy; the provision of ongoing communication with families, caregivers, and external resources regarding the treatment status of clients; the coordination of pre-admission, admission and discharge planning with the client, family and community; the planning, implementing and evaluating of client/family treatment plans; and the establishment of professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team. These functions are undertaken in accordance with the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre\'s Mission Statement, organizational policies and procedures, and the Code of Ethics as outlined by the Canadian Association of Social Workers.Job Duties:

  • Planning, implementation and the provision of clinical services to clients, families and community.
  • Responsible for pre-admission information gathering and active promotion of the reintegration of client/family into the community via discharge planning.
  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating client/family treatment plans.
  • Providing ongoing communication with families, caregivers and external resources regarding the treatment status of clients.
  • Providing individual counseling, group therapy and family therapy.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team.
Experience
  • Experience and expertise in group therapy will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with children & families, preferably in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Previous experience in a mental health setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Masters of Social Work.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Preferred registration with MASW/MIRSW. Staff not licensed/registered with a legislated professional body must be registered/certified with an appropriate Association.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Skill in the following areas: clinical assessment, family therapy, systems intervention.
