The Department of Families is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the Social Services Case Manager position located in Winnipeg.

Qualifications:


Essential:




Post-secondary education in the social services field. An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered. Case management experience in an integrated services environment that includes brief counselling, conducting assessments, service planning and coordination, resource development and follow-up. Demonstrated ability to manage time and organize tasks effectively while working under pressure and navigating competing demands, with sound political acumen and strategic awareness in delivering services within a complex governmental and community context. Excellent interpersonal skills (interacts sensitively, respectfully and in a non-judgmental manner). Strong problem identification, analysis and resolution skills Excellent written communications. Excellent verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate with various levels of staff and the public especially people from diverse backgrounds or socially disadvantaged. Ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a complex work environment with competing demands. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) or similar software applications.



Desired:


Knowledge of community resources. Knowledge of mandate and services within Employment, Income and Health Supports (EIHS).

Duties:


This is a unique position in the Department of Families focused on meeting Manitobans most at risk of where traditional forms of service delivery have not been effective. Creatively moving services traditionally office-based into settings in the community. This role is under the general direction of The Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) Program Manager at EIA Downtown West. Cultivating and maintaining working relationships with various external, internal agencies, interest groups, and other government departments is an ongoing function of this position. The position requires innovative service delivery, relationship building and, collaboration with community partners. The Social Services Case Manager is responsible for the development, coordination, facilitation and representation of EIA in the community. The position is responsible for solution-focus in times of crisis and striving for continuous improvement. The role aims to ensure Manitobans access and continued connection to supportive Families programs.
