Position Summary

In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, and under the general supervision of a senior position such as a Social Worker, Registered Nurse or designate; the Social Service Assistant provides support services in the admission and discharge of patients/residents/clients and provides on-going social services support.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:30 to 16:30

Mackenzie & District Hospital and Health Centre
Mackenzie & District Hospital and Health Centre is a five acute bed hospital with four long-term care beds. Services include medical and emergency services. Other services include medical imaging, laboratory, mental health and substance use. There is also a medical clinic.

Qualifications


Graduation from a recognized Social Services Worker certificate program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid B.C. Drivers’ License and access to vehicle for business related purposes.

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
