OnePeopleTO is a Black-led, women-led, Queer-positive cultural care, consulting, and advocacy wellness sanctuary located in downtown Toronto. We provide a safe and empowering space for marginalized communities, particularly Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) individuals, to heal, connect, and thrive. OnePeople Philanthropy is the non-profit arm of OnePeopleTO, focused on community outreach and advocacy initiatives.

Position Summary:



Location

: Virtual; computer/laptop, high-speed internet, cell phone and access to a printer

Hours of Work

: 16 hours per month

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Social Media Manager are to implement the organization's marketing strategy, provide support with daily marketing activities, including creating content, preparing social media posts, & monitoring social platforms..

Operational Accountability



Lead weekly curation and promotion of content on Instagram and LinkedIn

Starting with 1 post per platform per week LinkedIn, Monday; Instagram, Wednesday
Understand trends and insights to optimize content (+ possible ad spend)

Engage with potential/current partners for joint campaigns/messages

Align content with the distribution of upcoming events and newsletter

Review & respond to social media messages as needed

Maintaining con?dentiality based on the requirement to access, review, maintain and distribute sensitive organizational communication, projects, materials and records. Maintaining con?dential client information

Prioritizing tasks to keep multiple initiatives moving promptly, meet deadlines, and propose marketing strategies for new/returning practitioners Maintain productive relationships with colleagues, practitioners, and partners Contribute to a collaborative and positive work environment by staying informed, attending sta? meetings, participating in events, representing OPTO when applicable and assisting with other minor duties as assigned.

About You



1-3 years experience in event coordination and event execution Event and/or Marketing education or a blend of education/experience Familiarity with Google Suite, and social media platforms (Instagram and LinkedIn) Good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques Excellent verbal and written communication skill Basic ability to record and edit videos Lived experience and/or familiarity of the cultural experiences of People of African descent, mental wellness/health Queer identities is a plus

A people person with e?ective and demonstrated relationship-building skills; Technical & creative writing skills for marketing/brand strategizing Self-initiating, curious, creative and resourceful

Compensation



This is a part-time contract position working 16 hours/month to start.. The extension of the contract and increased hours will be based on the candidate's performance, initiative and mutual satisfaction.
