Department Overview

TD Direct Investing provides self-directed investors with access to the tools, resources, education and support to confidently manage their wealth. Clients can access TD Direct Investing services through a variety of channels, including our industry leading online and mobile platforms, our licensed representatives available over the telephone and in person at any of our branches across Canada.

To help investors successfully achieve their financial goals, we offer a comprehensive education program that includes interactive live sessions with one of our experienced instructors and curated video content that builds their knowledge and confidence with investing.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in copywriting, content strategy, journalism, social media management for a major brand or other relevant communications work
  • Experience with social media management and publishing software (Sprinklr/Hootsuite, Sprout Social)
  • You have a working knowledge of SEO and how to create content that drives action, able to quickly draw connections to trending events, cultural moments and relevant news stories
  • Working knowledge of capital markets, investing/money management themes and topics
  • Completion of the CSC, CPH, DFOL, a CFA or MBA would be preferrable but are not specifically required for this role.
  • The ability to verbally deliver strong executive updates is expected. This also includes the ability to deliver highly effective PowerPoint decks and other visuals to complement your presentations.
  • Deep understanding of the rapidly evolving digital media and social environments including emerging market trends, platforms, and experiences.
  • Must be a quick learner and a self-starter who can take ownership of opportunities and quickly identify and work with partners to execute solutions
  • Knowledge of best practices with educating and engaging adult audiences with complex topics is an asset
  • Comfort with communicating metrics and leveraging insights from data is desirable
  • Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, and respectful to diverse communities
  • Candidate must be a critical thinker and can provide sound judgement on complex matters

Job Details

Reporting into the Senior Manager - TD Direct Investing Client Education Content Strategy, you will help shape the social voice and tone for an industry-leading team of DIY investing content creators. We\'re looking for a highly experience individual who is capable of helping grow our brand reach and improve content engagement across the social media space. This role will involve:
  • Co-ordinate with content producers and delivery team to ensure distribution of educational content on organic and paid social aligns with strategic and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing partners to identify opportunities to grow our community of investors that engages with our TD Direct Investing branded social media handles.
  • Oversee our user engagement and response program, which includes performing periodic reviews to determine if procedures are being executed as required.
  • Report on the progress of our social media initiatives, including trending views on share of voice, sentiment, impressions, reach, engagement and followership.
  • Research and identify new content social media trends that can be implemented in our content development framework
  • Manage our social media publishing calendar and recommend content topics that would align with the business key priorities such as product releases and market trends
  • Work with distribution partners, such as marketing and public affairs, to identify and mitigate high-risk matters that originate in social media
  • Conduct market research to help influence social media strategy
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for:
  • Being an inspirational spokesperson to champion the program across the enterprise.
  • Ensuring TD Brand standards and all compliance, legal, brand and other regulatory guidelines are adhered with all content created.
  • Be comfortable working with executives on a variety of special projects
