Role Summary



Create and publish social content that builds brand awareness, drives inquiries and bookings, and showcases our menus and events. Manage day-to-day community engagement, schedule content, run basic paid social campaigns, and report on performance while bringing a genuine passion for food and storytelling.

Key Responsibilities



Content planning:

Develop a monthly content calendar across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.

Content creation:

Produce short-form video (Reels/TikTok), mobile photography, captions, and basic graphics that showcase dishes, events, and behind-the-scenes moments.

Food storytelling:

Create recipe features, menu spotlights, chef interviews, and blog-style captions that translate menu items into engaging posts.

Company profiling and brand development:

Work closely with the owner to define and refine the brand voice, visual identity, messaging pillars, and public profile; translate that strategy into content and campaigns.

Owner collaboration:

Prepare talking points, short-form personal branding content, and owner-led posts; coach the owner for on-camera appearances and interviews.

Community management:

Post, monitor, and respond to comments and DMs in a timely, brand-appropriate voice.

Paid social:

Run and optimize small-scale paid campaigns to drive leads and bookings.

Event coverage:

Provide quick-turn event coverage and curate highlight content for marketing use.

Reporting:

Track KPIs, prepare concise weekly reports, and recommend strategy adjustments.

Partnerships:

Coordinate with operations, sales, influencers, and vendors for collaborations and content capture.

Areas of Familiarity and Expertise



Platform knowledge:

Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn.

Short-form video:

Reels and TikTok production and editing on a smartphone.

Food photography:

Mobile photography, basic photo editing, plating-aware composition.

Writing:

Brand voice, caption writing, and blog-style storytelling.

Personal branding:

Owner/lead profiling, on-camera coaching, and executive social content.

Paid social fundamentals:

Campaign setup, audience targeting, budget pacing, basic A/B testing.

Analytics:

Native platform insights and basic Google Sheets reporting.

Tools:

Canva or similar, scheduling tools (Later, Hootsuite, Buffer) preferred.

Required Qualifications



Experience:

1-3 years of social media experience or equivalent freelance/project work.

Portfolio:

Strong portfolio of social posts and short-form videos; include at least one food-related sample.

Technical skills:

Comfortable shooting and editing short videos on a smartphone; basic graphic design (Canva).

Availability:

Reliable, organized, able to work occasional evenings and weekends for events.

Nice to Have



Food content background:

Blogging, recipe development, or long-form food writing experience.

Photo editing:

Lightroom or beginner Adobe skills.

Industry experience:

Prior hospitality, food, or events experience.

CRM familiarity:

Experience with booking systems or simple lead tracking.

Compensation



Hourly range:

C$20-C$26 per hour for an entry-level / lower-range hire based on experience and availability.

Full-time equivalent:

Approximately C$40,000-C$54,000 per year, depending on hours and exact rate.

Growth path:

Raises and bonuses tied to performance, bookings influenced by campaigns, and expanded responsibilities as the role grows.

Available start date and preferred weekly hours. We are accepting applications for both full-time and part-time. Core operating hours are monday thru friday from 9am-5pm. Special event coverage hours are flexible based on client bookings.

Candidates who show authentic food storytelling, strong short-form video skills, and/or demonstrated event coverage experience will be prioritized.
